Boroughmuir v Watsonians delayed again

BOROUGHMUIR and Watsonians will not be playing their crucial Scottish Hydro Premier One match this weekend, but instead it has been pencilled in for a week on Saturday because the Meggetland pitch is unavailable tomorrow.

When Boroughmuir lost their Premier Cup tie at Cartha Queens Park on Tuesday evening it seemed to pave the way for the much delayed capital derby to take place.

However, with home side Boroughmuir's ground being used for the women's Scotland v England international tomorrow at 1.30pm, it left the clubs with an issue of where and when the match could be contested.

After extensive talks between the clubs and various dates not proving suitable to both parties, next Saturday, 20 March has been agreed on at Meggetland. The kick-off time is to be confirmed.

The new date raises the prospect of both clubs being without club international players for the clash as Scotland's best amateurs are taking on their Irish counterparts at Donnybrook in Dublin next Friday night.

Currently, Boroughmuir are seventh in the table while Watsonians are in 11th.
