Bonnyrigg hit Rovers for six to reach quarter-finals

Bonnyrigg stormed into the quarter-finals of the Emirates Scottish Junior Cup after a decisive victory. Bonnyrigg had the majority of possession in the first half and took the lead on 19 minutes when Sean Paliczka finished a right wing move.

However, the home side fought back two minutes later when Scott Houston hit a fabulous 30-yard free kick over Michael Burgess.

The Rose went ahead again in 24 minutes when Scott Ritchie headed home. However, after a terrific scramble in the Rose penalty area, Paul Stewart got the final touch to level the scores again and an exciting first half ended all square. Bonnyrigg continued to dominate at the start of the second half and Scott Devlin put them in front for the third time after Rovers failed to clear a corner.

There was no comeback this time from Rovers as Bonnyrigg turned the screw and Ryan McCallum finished a fine move with a great header to put the Rose two ahead.

Rovers had no answer to Rose and several chances were missed before Kevin McLeish brilliantly chipped Ciaran McDade for a fifth and Sean Grady added a sixth in the last minute.
