Bo'ness ready to bite back

BO'NESS boss Alan McGonigal reckons his players will be like "wounded animals" when they entertain Oakley United in the second round of the Fife & Lothians Cup tomorrow.

After going 19 games undefeated, Bo'ness have suddenly found themselves under scrutiny after losing their last two games.

"We've had a wee hiccup at the wrong time but we'll pick ourselves up and get going again as there are a couple of big prizes still there for us," said McGonigal.

The biggest of those, of course, is the Super League title but McGonigal is happy that his side are on Cup duty this weekend. "This is the perfect match for us," he added. "It's at home and gives us a chance to get the last couple of results out of our system.

"Oakley will be stuffy opponents and we'll treat them with the respect they deserve after beating Linlithgow in the last round.

"But we'll be like wounded animals, there's no question about that."

McGonigal, who cancelled training on Monday as he didn't want his players to feel as though they were in a flat dressing-room, continued: "There is no point looking back – the Super League is the big apple and it's what lies in front of us that matters."
