Belmont and Kyle take the honours

VOLLEYBALL: Belmont Academy boys and Kyle Academy girls were the winners at the season’s second School Volleyball Festival at Grangemouth Sports Complex.

Over 200 players from schools throughout Scotland took part in the Senior 2/3 event and the one newcomer was Kinross High School.

Belmont Academy came up against four Kyle Academy teams in the boys’ event, but managed to come out on top. But no-one could stop the Kyle Academy girls.

For Graeme Spowart, Scottish Volleyball’s Club & Participation Development Officer, it was the overall level of play that impressed.

“The highlight of the day had to be the standard of play and enjoyment in the lower pools,” he said. “The Festivals are all proving to be a great success.”

The next Festival is for Primary 7/Senior 1 level and takes place on 7 February at Drumbrae Leisure Centre in Edinburgh.
