Beach Volleyball: Mullin tops Olympic pool

Edinburgh's Shauna Mullin and English partner Zara Dampney made it three wins out of three to top their opening pool at the Olympic Beach Volleyball Test event on Horse Guards Parade in London.

The No.1 seeds staged a dramatic 16-21, 21-18, 18-16 win over Chinese No.12 seeds Wang Fan and Yuanyan Ma.

Mullin and Dampney had already booked their place in the knockout stages with a similarly tense win over Puerto Rico's Dariam Acevedo and Yarleen Santiago 17-21, 24-22, 16-14 where they saved three match points.

"It was amazing to have the home crowd behind us, looking around at the end of the match and seeing everyone on their feet cheering for you was just amazing and gives you that extra bit," said Mullin.
