Bathgate Thistle 2 - 1 Bonnyrigg Rose: Bathgate cut 'Rigg again

BATHGATE bounced back from their midweek defeat to Linlithgow and lifted themselves back into second position in the Super League by defeating Bonnyrigg for the second time in ten days.

Most of the first-half pressure came from Thistle and they had a good Graeme McLaren goal disallowed ten minutes into the game for offside but their efforts were rewarded in the 23rd minute when Jim Lister put them into the lead.

The big striker picked up the ball inside his own half and left the Rose defence in his wake before calmly left footing the ball past keeper Logan.

Four minutes into the second half Bathgate managed to add a second goal when Brian McPhee headed Graeme McLaren's inch-perfect cross past Logan into the bottom corner.

Ten minutes from the end, Sean Paliczka pulled one back for the visitors. Bonnyrigg applied pressure in an effort to get the equaliser but efforts by Paliczka and Charles Brigain were well dealt with by Thistle keeper Andy Carlin.
