Basketball: Spartans win

Edinburgh SPARTANS will face City of Edinburgh in the second round of basketball's Scottish Chairman's Cup after beating Paisley Buddies 63-61 in a battling rearguard performance at St Benedict's High School, Linwood.

"Three of our starters fouled out and Paisley had a shot to win but didn't get it off in time," said Spartans coach Bob Merrilees.
