Basketball: Glasgow Rocks run out of gas in BBL play-off final

GLASGOW Rocks coach Sterling Davis conceded his side paid dearly for their shooting struggles as they lost 80-72 to Everton Tigers in the BBL play-off final in Birmingham.

Rocks rebounded from falling 22 behind in a disastrous first half to take the lead in the fourth period. However, Everton produced a late surge to capture the season's final piece of silverware.

"We've exceeded expectations and considering how we started, to finish in the final earned the guys a lot of credit," said Davis. "On the other hand, it was disappointing the way we performed in the first half. We shot terribly, 0-for-15 from the three-point line."

Rocks captain Rob Yanders hit a team-best 15 points in what is likely to be his final outing for the club.
