Basketball: GB ready for Mac attack

Still thanking their lucky stars after squeezing home 66-64 over Hungary in Birmingham on Tuesday night, Great Britain's men's basketball team will take advantage of a short break in their hectic schedule to prepare for arguably their toughest game yet, their away match with Macedonia in Sarajevo on Monday.

Riding high on five wins out of five, the Standard Life Team GB know they can virtually clinch the group if they beat Macedonia again but they also know that it will not be easy after being taken to overtime by the Macedonians in a thriller of an opening game at Newcastle on 8 August.

GB women meanwhile, boosted by their terrific 72-63 away win over Germany on Tuesday night, host Ukraine at Surrey University's new home at Guildford tonight in confident mood given that Ukraine have already lost at home to Germany.

Edinburgh's Rose Anderson was given only eight minutes on court in that game and will be looking to make a bigger contribution tonight.
