Barrett trains with Hearts

FORMER Falkirk striker Graham Barrett trained with Hearts today and hopes to impress manager Csaba Laszlo over the next few days.

Barrett is available as a free agent having severed ties with Falkirk last month. Also training with the Tynecastle club is 26-year-old Lithuanian trialist Arunas Klimavicius, a versatile defender who recently left Dinamo Moscow.

Barrett, whose began his career as an Arsenal trainee, recently trained with St Johnstone but may now be granted the chance to establish himself at Tynecastle as Laszlo encounters selection problems in attack.

Aside from Tullberg and Nade, Hearts' only recognised forwards are Calum Elliot and teenager Gary Glen, and with that in mind the club have taken the opportunity to assess Barrett.
