Bajo in Scotland’s squad for Aberdeen

ATHLETICS: Sprinter Morro Bajo will represent Scotland at the Celtic Games in Aberdeen following his return from Africa. The Gambian-born youngster left these shores last winter but is now back in Scotland and in the Under-18 team for the 100m and 200m.

Like former Celtic kid Islam Feruz and rugby cap Tim Visser, Bajo is eligible for Scotland following a period of residency.

The Celtic Games will feature Scotland, Wales and Ireland at Aberdeen Sports Village on Saturday 11 August, with a Scotland ‘Futures’ team also taking part. Three UK Schools gold medallists - Ross Maxwell, Robbie Nairn and Mhairi Patience - are all named in the selections following their performances back in May. Emma Bowie, another gold winner in London, is with the Futures squad.
