Bailey’s return appeared in doubt after he was called up for Australia’s one-day tour of New Zealand last month but he wasn’t called upon to make his international debut.
Three years ago, Bailey scored 274 runs in nine games for Scotland, including a top score of 92 against Durham.
“I’m really looking forward to being a part of the Scotland set-up again,” said Bailey. “I’ve been in pretty good form for Tasmania.”
Bailey was selected for the Australia A tour of India in late 2008 and also earned an IPL contract with the Chennai Super Kings. The 27-year-old right-hander scored 538 runs at 59.77 for the Tasmanian Tigers in this season’s domestic one-day competition, in which he captained his state to the title.
