Badminton: Scottish duo make semis after defeating Irish

SCOTTISH pair Andrew Bowman and Watson Briggs made the semi-finals of the Banuinvest International Championship Men's Doubles in Timisoara, Romania.

Bowman and Briggs lost the opening set against Irish duo Sam Magee and Tony Stephenson but came back to win 16-21, 21-14, 23-21.

In the Women's Doubles, Scots Jillie Cooper and Emma Mason defeated Indonesia's Jiayuan Chen and Juan Gu 21-15, 21-15 in the quarters.
