Badminton: Bankier and Blair head to Indonesia

Scotland's leading mixed doubles pairing Imogen Bankier and Robert Blair return to Super Series action this week when they tackle the Indonesia Open Premier tournament in Jakarta.

Edinburgh's Blair and England partner Gabby White face a tough opener against Taiwan's world No?14s Chen Hung Ling and Cheng Wen Hsing, the pair who knocked out Nathan Robertson and Jenny Wallwork in the semi-finals in Singapore on Saturday before finishing as runners-up. If Blair and White win their first-round match they will probably face Denmark's third seeds Joachim Fischer Nielsen and Christinna Pedersen in the last 16.

Bankier and England partner Chris Adcock must wait until completion of today's qualifying to learn their opponents. And if they come through their first-round clash they are likely to meet Denmark's eighth seeds and 2010 world champions Thomas Laybourn and Kamilla Juhl.

Robertson and Wallwork face Japan's Hirokatsu Hashimoto and Mizuki Fujii, with China's top seeds Zhang Nan and Zhao Yunlei or Indonesia's Nova Widianto and Vita Marissa providing second-round opposition. Six-times Scottish National champion Susan Egelstaff is sitting out Indonesia.
