Australians ready for Games after naming 52 swimmers

Seven-time Commonwealth Games gold medallist Leisel Jones will lead a 52-strong Australian swimming team for October's Games in Delhi.

Jones, comeback sensation Geoff Huegill and sprint specialist Eamon Sullivan will join 31 Commonwealth Games debutants in the squad, including Emily Seebohm, who won gold in the 200m individual medley at last month's Pan-Pacific Championships in California.

Melissa Gorman, Grace Loh, James Magnussen, Kenrick Monk, Mitchell Patterson, Kyle Richardson and Tessa Wallace have also been included in the squad following commendable performances at the same Championships.

Swimming Australia head coach Leigh Nugent explained that the team is eagerly awaiting the Games. "Australia has a fantastic tradition at the Commonwealth Games and this is a strong team," he said.
