Athletics: Wilson Kiprop pips Zersenay Tadese in half-marathon

Zersenay Tadese missed out on an unprecedented fifth consecutive World half-marathon title in Nanning, China.

Tadese, who set a new world record over the distance in March, was beaten into second place by Kenya's Wilson Kiprop, who edged ahead the final few metres to record a time of one hour and seven seconds, with Tadese four seconds adrift and Kenya's Sammy Kirop Kitwara a further 11 seconds back in third.

With three of the top four finishers, Kenya comfortably won the team competition ahead of Eritrea, with Ethiopia third.
