Athletics: Pavey makes return after giving birth

COMMONWEALTH 5000 metres silver medallist Jo Pavey will contest her first race since becoming a mother at the SPAR Great Ireland Run in Dublin today.

Pavey, whose son Jacob was born last September, has replaced European cross country champion Hayley Higham-Yelling, who withdrew from the 10km road race through illness.

It will be the 36-year-old's first competition for just over a year, since she took part at the Asthma 10km event in Windsor when pregnant.
