Athletics: Hammer time for Scots

Scotland's young female hammer-throwers have made a bright start to the season.

Susan McKelvie (EAC), Myra Perkins (Falkirk) and Kimberley Reed (EAC) have all posted good performances. Following McKelvie's rankings leader of 60.96 metres in the Scottish Women's League, Mary Erskine's FP Perkins bettered the Scottish Under-20 record with a heave of 58.14m at Loughborough. And Reed broke Perkins' National under-17 record with 53.63m at Grangemouth this month.
