Athletics: Flying O'Hare up to speed

Chris O'HARE (Edinburgh AC) was fastest qualifier for the one-mile final in the National Collegiate Championships at College Station in Texas last night.

The 20-year-old Peebles High FP, who is on an athletics scholarship at Tulsa University, won his heat in 4:00.87, sharing the same time as Miles Batty (Brigham Young) in second place.

The final is later tonight.
