Athletics - Eilidh Child lands top award

Eilidh Child was named Athlete of the Year last night at Scottish Athletics Awards in Glasgow to cap a remarkable year for the 400 metres hurdler. Child, 24, who won a silver medal at the Commonwealth Games in New Delhi, fought off competition from Steph Twell and Lee McConnell to land the honour.

Twell was named Under-23 Athlete of the Year while Child's mentor, Stuart Hogg, won Coach of the Year as well as a Lifetime Achievement award.
