Archery: Sergio Pagni wins in Edinburgh

The greatest archers have gathered in Edinburgh's Princes Street Gardens this weekend for the World Cup and Italy's Sergio Pagni was as close to infallible as he could hope for, becoming the first man ever to retain the compound title.

In his final against Braden Gellenthien, he trailed after the opening two sets but then closed with two perfect 30-points scores to thwart his American rival 6-4.

Korean Ok-Hee Yun took the women's recurve title after finishing second and third in successive years, her 7-3 defeat of Ukraine's Victoriya Koval capturing the 12,000 first prize. "It was a bit windy," she said. "But that is what you practise for."
