Annan rise to third after spoils shared

ANNAN should have had the match wrapped up but they dropped two more points as their poor run continues with only a point from their past two games.

Despite this they moved up to third spot in the table after the clubs shared the points for the second time this season.

After enjoying the best of the early stages of the match, Annan got the break they were seeking in the 25th minute. Chris Jardine crossed the ball and David Cox headed home from six yards.

Ross McCord almost equalised four minutes later but his shot went wide of the post. Then in the 40th minute Alan Campbell rose for a corner and headed home from close in.

Annan hit back in three minutes when Aaron Muirhead headed them into an interval lead from ten yards.

But on the hour mark Paul Tosh shot home from just inside the box to level.

Jordan Halsman had a great chance in 74 minutes but his left-foot drive was stopped by Montrose keeper Daniele Giordano and then four minutes later Cox headed over the bar.
