Andy Murray’s Wimbledon odds shortened

ANDY MURRAY is now the 11-4 second-favourite to win Wimbledon this year with Ladbrokes.

Following his rain-delayed win against Marin Cilic at Queen’s the Scot has seen his odds trimmed to 11-4 (from 3-1) to pick up his maiden Wimbledon title this summer.

Novak Djokovic remains the favourite at 15-8 with Rafael Nadal, fresh from his impressive win at the French Open, at 3-1.

It’s just even money that Murray reaches the final of Wimbledon for the second year in a row and there’s a 5-2 chance that he successfully defends his US Open title in September. And Ladbrokes will be refunding all losing outright bets (as a free bet) if Andy Murray is finally victorious at SW19 this year.

Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: “Murray made hard work of his win at Queen’s, but it didn’t stop punters piling into him during in-play betting.”

She added: “In the last decade only one Queen’s favourite has gone on to win Wimbledon. Hopefully this will be Murray’s year to defy the odds.”

Roger Federer, who was victorious in his warm-up tournament in Halle, is 11-2.
