The 30-year-old told Glasgow Sheriff Court that while in the Barbeque King takeaway in Glasgow’s West End, where the alleged assaults took place, he never heard anybody trying to stop what was happening.
Mr Maclay was giving evidence for a second day at the jury trial of Glasgow Warriors players Ryan Wilson, 25, Ryan Grant, 29, and Rory Hughes, 21, who deny assaulting him on 27 October, 2013.

Defence lawyer Colm Dempsey, for Wilson, suggested to Mr Maclay that he was pushed, not hit, but he denied this. He had Mr Maclay read out his statement to police on the day of the attack that said: “I remember being hit or pushed and ended up on the floor.” Asked if he recalled saying these words. Mr Maclay answered: “Yes.”
The court also heard that the medical notes recorded no loss of consciousness.
The trial continues.
