Albion have revenge on their mind against Shire

THIRD Division preview.

ALBION ROVERS v EAST STIRLINGSHIRE

ALBION have a quick chance to gain revenge on an East Stirlingshire side that defeated them 2-0 just six days ago and turn games in hand into points to mount a promotion play-off push.

The Cliftonhill squad is in fine shape for their remaining 11 games with only full-back Alan Benton and striker Marc Pollock missing out because of injury.

Second placed East Stirling need to win to put an element of pressure on league leaders Livingston who are eleven points ahead.

Tonight's game may come too soon for defenders David King and Craig Tully but midfield duo Paul Weaver and Scott Johnstone could be involved.

After Saturday's 3-2 defeat by Montrose, Shire manager Jim McInally said: "We may have lost but we are still in second and have plenty to be positive about. We need to stick to our passing game and not resort to long balls which we did on Saturday."

ELGIN CITY v MONTROSE

Elgin are looking to repeat February's 4-0 win over Montrose to re-establish a six point gap on their visitors at the foot of the table and win for only the second time this season at Borough Briggs.

Midfielder Neil Macdonald is available again, however on-loan Inverness Caledonian striker Shane Sutherland will miss out because of a hamstring injury.

A fourth win in five games would lift Montrose level on points with their hosts.

Steven Tweed's side will miss suspended midfielder Chris Hegarty, however defender Sean Fleming and striker Steve Nicholas could start. Fraser Milligan and Aaron Sinclair are struggling with injury with Marek Tomana doubtful because of flu. James Collier and Gordon Pope continue to be ruled out.

FORFAR v BERWICK

Forfar are looking for a first win in seven games as a run of four defeats and two draws all but ended their championship challenge. A win over a Berwick side that sit immediately below them in the table will also help strengthen Dick Campbell's men in their quest for a play-off place.

Martyn Fotheringham and Kevin Fotheringham are both major doubts with injury and Mark McCulloch will return if work commitments allow, however Kevin Gordon will be absent.

Berwick will move above Forfar into third place with a win and also open up a three point gap on a Queen's Park side that are breathing down their neck in the race for a play-off spot.

Defender Jamie Ewart is banned for this tie with full-back Graham Guy out injured. Winger Fraser McLaren looks set to miss out again because of a knock.
