Age grade finals put back by weather

THE severe weather which has hit Scotland took its toll on two title-deciding matches in age grade rugby last night.

The Brewin Dolphin Scottish Schools Under-15 Bowl final between Earlston High School and Linlithgow Composite at Murrayfield, and the National Youth Bowl Under-16 final between Howe of Fife and Hamilton, scheduled to be played at Bridgehaugh in Stirling, were both postponed.

A spokesman for the Scottish Rugby Union said no date has yet been arranged for the rescheduled matches, adding: “The problem now is Easter holidays and the fact that different local authorities have different holiday periods.”

Possible dates are 19 April, which would not intrude into exam time, and 26 April, when the National Youth Cup final will be played on the international pitch at Murrayfield.
