A flutter on the Canaries can have punters flying

PAUL Lambert's table-topping Norwich side can further enhance their Division One stranglehold by beating inconsistent Southampton at Carrow Road today.

The previous two games have both ended in 2-2 draws at St Mary's, so those of you that play the overs in the goals markets should be in profit.

Norwich's recent form has also been a little patchy but with valid reason, their 24-goal talisman and captain Grant Holt was suspended for three games and made an immediate impact last weekend by scoring the equaliser in a 2-1 away win at Brighton.

The Saints have to get over a home thumping by bitter rivals Portsmouth, and perhaps Alan Pardew might have one eye on the Johnstone's Paint Trophy final on the near horizon. Promotion this year looks increasingly difficult having been deducted ten points at the start of season and Lambert's high-flying Canaries can put a further dent in that ambition.

For the away bet, we'll take a chance on Brighton to defy their odds by adding further woe to Leeds. The Yorkshire side obviously find it difficult to raise their game for lesser matches as a 2-1 home defeat to Walsall in midweek highlights.
