9am Briefing: Riordan apologises to Hibs team-mates for getting sent off

Hibs striker Derek Riordan has apologised to his team-mates after being sent off for a horror tackle on Hearts ace Rudi Skacel in Sunday's derby at Easter Road.

As the SPL launched its own inquiry into the missile-thowing incidents at Sunday's match, Hearts boss Jim Jefferies hit out at the minority of fans involved but acknowledged that, after away fans smuggled flares into the ground, it would be impossible to search all the fans on their way into the ground.
