70s style back in fashion at Hearts

HEARTS have unveiled their new kit, with the first-choice shirt marking a significant departure from the traditional maroon shirt by featuring a white front - looking like a reversal of the Ajax-style Hearts shirt of the early 1970s.

"The new shirt is a great idea and I know there has been a bit of clamour to resurrect the 70s shirt," said Donald Ford yesterday. "I scored one of my best-ever headed goals in the strip - at Ibrox when we won 1-0 in the famous Tommy Murray incident, when he sat on the ball. Sadly, few remember the goal - only the circumstances which led to it!"
