Why Glasgow is at the centre of space innovation – your guide to Space-Comm Scotland

As Space-Comm Scotland returns to Glasgow on December 3rd and 4th, expect 2,300 space leaders, over 100 speakers and 80 exhibitors driving European space policy.
Space-Comm Scotland is returning for its second year at SEC Glasgow after a successful debut in 2024.
Branded “where Europe’s space ambition turns into commercial reality”, more than half of its attendees are expected to have purchasing authority.
Expanded conference theatres, networking, roundtables, live demos and Meet the Buyer are key features for 2025.

Shaping the future of European space
Delivered in collaboration with ADS, ESA, and Scottish Enterprise, the event unlocks access to the decision-makers driving European space policy.
Organisers say that event-goers can expect to network with 30+ ambassadors of leading space nations, 100+ government attendees, 35+ national delegations, UK ministers and senior MOD representatives.
This out-of-this-world event will reinforce Space‑Comm’s role in supporting Europe’s response to a global space race and help translate ambition into commercial outcomes.
Innovation to delivery: Scaling Europe’s space capability
Space-Comm Scotland aims to help connect innovators, buyers and investors to advance Europe’s space capabilities over the next decade.
Its focus is on how innovation transforms into scalable, real-world space infrastructure and services.
The event is anchored in Europe’s need to close gaps in strategic autonomy and launch capacity – an urgent theme echoed by ESA leadership.

Satellite data for competitive advantage
Engaging new industries and audiences from additional business sectors, adopting space data can have commercial and societal benefits.
Satellite-derived data can drive innovation, economic growth and provide a competitive edge across various sectors.
Why Scotland?
Glasgow is now the leading small‑satellite manufacturing hub outside California, with five launch-ready spaceports, and unmatched data and deep‑space tech capabilities.
Scotland contributes substantial capacity: Over 20% of UK space jobs, a thriving ecosystem spanning satellite manufacturing, launch capability and data analysis.
Recent ESA funding (€44M) supports four launch providers (Orbex, RFA Augsburg, Isar Aerospace, HyImpulse), further boosting Scotland’s strategic standing.
