For those in the know, the November sale at House of Bruar, which this year falls on Friday 13th to Sunday 15th November, is a big part of the countdown to Christmas.
So popular that it has been known to slow down the A9 (though ample parking onsite is a real bonus) the sale is a unique chance to secure a coveted piece, as well as indulge in some Christmas cheer. We asked the Bruar team for their top 8 reasons not to miss this once-a-year event.

This is a gathering of some of Scotland and Britain's finest food brands, who will be chatting to customers and offering samples of their wares under Bruar's spacious stretch tent. Getting bigger each year, the Food Festival is a reason to visit in its own right. House of Bruar is very proud of the fact that its pure cashmere range is bigger than any retailer in the UK, and whilst this luxurious yarn always commands a premium, the Perthshire store also offers some of the most competitive cashmere prices around. 5. Enjoy a musical moment
The Bruar hills will be alive with music once more, as the Perth Rock Choir, Perthshire Brass, and the Perth & District Pipe Band each return to give their own take on festive music (happily all at different times). 6. Food glorious food!
For many, Bruar's food offering is every bit as important to their visit as its retail departments. During the three-day-sale, the store aims to take complete command of your taste buds, with Bruar's famous barbeque making a welcome festive comeback, roasting locally-sourced meats over its stone-built outdoor grill. More options will be provided by the 600-seat informal restaurant serving everything from delicious hand-made steak pie to crispy deep-fill baguettes, the famous Lobster Fish & Chip shop frying up a storm, and the seasonal Winter Warmers Parlour serving sugared ring doughnuts, hearty home-made soups and festive hot chocolate, and seasonal sweet treats.
7. The Christmas donkeys are coming back.
One of the absolute highlights of last year, this adorable pair of Christmas donkeys will return to Bruar to tour the site once more, giving kids of all ages the opportunity to see and interact with these gentle and loyal creatures – what could be more Christmassy? This special appearance is on Saturday, so pencil the date into your diary!
8. Is this in the sale? YES.
The Bruar team knows how disappointing it can be when the piece you really love isn't part of the sale. So for the three day period, they take 10% off every gift and piece of clothing that wasn't already part of the sale, with even bigger discounts off items that are included in the sale, with only food/drink, books, and Gallery pieces excluded. Bruar's designer outlet-style onsite Sale Shop is also an essential stop during the sale, as further discounts are applied to items that were already reduced in price!
