Charlotte James Furniture has been manufacturing luxury furniture since 2003. With a trade-only client base, the company works exclusively with interior designers, architects and specifiers throughout the UK and internationally.

Hand crafted and made in Edinburgh
All Charlotte James furniture is hand crafted under one roof at its Edinburgh-based workshop.
“During manufacture, each piece of furniture is overseen by a nominated craftsman from its ever-expanding team of skilled upholsterers, sewers, polishers and cabinet makers,” says Ross Dempster, Managing Director. “This ensures our ethos remains the same: To produce high quality, beautifully designed and wonderfully comfortable furniture.”
For its clients this means a fully end-to-end service. Expert professionals will be able to discuss individual needs with clients to ensure the perfect product in terms of design, style, materials and finish and take that service right through to manufacturing and even fitting.

Catherine was working on a stunning flat in the West End of the city and turned to Charlotte James for most of the furniture for the project.

Working directly with the trade
Charlotte James Furniture does not deal directly with the public – all its furniture pieces are commissioned and sold through trade partners including interior designers, architects and furniture specifiers. Its showroom, open by appointment only, is a space for clients to get inspiration and discuss ideas with their designers and the manufacturing team –whether you are working for a single client, or carrying out a complete refit of a bar, restaurant, offices or chain of hotels!

It is a British Interior Design Partner, a member of Commercial Interiors UK. Working with a range of materials and design specifications, it produces furniture from sofas to cabinetry, chairs to headboards, all carefully constructed by professional craftspeople.

And the team also has expert fitters to build furniture in situ when required.
