Fund raising website Just Giving has released data showing where the most generous towns in Scotland are. These top ten towns raised over a combined £4.6 million in just the first half of 2015. With over half of the general population donating in the past year, according to a YouGov survey, it’s time to find out who among them are the most charitable.

The coastal town of Peterhead in Aberdeenshire was proven to have the deepest pockets as they gave an average of £5.58 per person, for a total of £103,026.

And while Glasgow only comes in at number eight with £4.39 per person, due to the population size, the city donated a generous £2,597,275 over just six months.

They have also been named the most generous when it comes to tips, with 91 per cent of Scots sayign they’ll leave one if they recieved a good table service.
