Steins at the ready – Oktoberfest has arrived in Edinburgh with industrial quantities of German beer, food and music.

The event, held in Princess Street Gardens, can accommodate 1,500 people, and entrance for today is free.

COMEDY: KEVIN BRIDGES

One of Scotland’s favourite comedy talents continues his UK domination with his A Whole Different Story tour in Aberdeen. The first of a marathon eight dates in Aberdeen’s GE Oil & Gas Arena, tonight’s show will likely sell out quickly, so best grab your tickets while you can.

EXHIBITION: STAR WARS IN GLASGOW

If you can’t wait to see Star Wars: The Force Awakens at the cinema, then you don’t have to go that far to return to a galaxy far, far away.

Variety Bar will be transformed with digital artwork from Mark Boyle’s Star Wars in Glasgow collection, art by comic book artist Neil Slorance and Glasgow Comic Con director Sha Nazir, as well as items from replica specialist Mike Lawson. You can also relax beside the life-size replica of Han Solo in carbonite while sipping on a Star Wars themed cocktail.

THEATRE: WATING FOR GODOT

To celebrate the Royal Lyceum Theatre Company’s 50th anniversary, two of the greatest Scottish stage actors, Brian Cox and Bill Paterson, will take to the theatre in Samuel Beckett’s Waiting For Godot.

Sixty years on from the play’s first performance, the absurdist play follows Vladimir and Estragon on a country road as they await the arrival of the illustrious Mr Godot.

MUSIC: RHODES

Rhodes, real name David Rhodes, is a British musician, singer and songwriter from Hertfordshire. On tour with his debut album, Wishes - released on 18 September – he’ll be performing tonight in Glagsgow. Having supported many big name acts such as Sam Smith and clocked up performances at BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend and Glastonbury, the musician’s stadium-filling pop sound will be playing a more intimate show at King Tut’s. Support will be from JP Cooper.
