Two jailed after ‘Breaking Bad’ style accident
Stewart Hamilton, 40 and Daniel Gallagher, 21, tried to extract cannabis oil from plants using butane gas.
But while the pair were working – using YouTube videos as an instruction manual – a spark caused an explosion sending the men across the room, setting the place alight and shattering the windows.

Hide AdAt Glasgow Sheriff Court yesterday, Hamilton from Govan pleaded guilty to attempting to produce cannabis oil and culpably and recklessly causing an explosion injuring himself and his co-accused and endangering the lives of others.
Gallagher, also from Govan, pleaded guilty to committing the same offences on 6 September 2014 at Crossloan Road, Govan.
Hamilton also admitted a charge of possessing cannabis.
Sheriff Daniel Scullion jailed Hamilton for 15 months and Gallagher for 12 months.
The court heard that following videos on the internet, Hamilton and Gallagher tried to extract oil from cannabis plants.

Hide AdBut their plans went awry when the gas ignited by what is believed to have been a kitchen appliance being used.
The gas exploded, causing a fire in the flat and blowing the men off of their feet and across the room.
The windows shattered and £6,500 damage was caused to the building.
After extinguishing the fire, the pair went to the Southern General hospital to be treated for their injuries.
Hamilton suffered eight percent burns on his head and body.

Hide AdThe police were alerted about the explosion and later found the men at the hospital.
Breaking Bad is an American crime drama which tells the story of a high school chemistry teacher who turns to a life of crime producing and selling chrystal meth. The teacher Walter White, played by Bryan Cranston, is diagnosed with inoperable lung cance. He and his former student Jesse Pinkman, played by Aaron Paul, produce and sell the drug to secure his family’s financial future before he dies. The series is set in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and the title is a southern US phrase meaning to “raise hell”.
