Terry Butcher odds on for Motherwell job
TERRY Butcher now appears to be the clear front-runner to return to Scottish football as Motherwell manager, six months after he was axed by Hibernian after they were relegated under his tenure.
As Motherwell prepare to begin interviewing contenders to replace Stuart McCall, betting firm McBookie.com reported that the ex-England captain – who was manager at Fir Park between 2002 and 2006 – is now 4-7 favourite for the job. Spokesman Paul Petrie said: “Punters have only been interested in backing Butcher. It would suggest he is on the shortlist and could even be the No 1 target.”
