St Andrew Square secures three more eateries

THREE international restaurants have chosen Edinburgh’s St Andrew Square for their first sites outside London.

New York “steakhouse and lounge concept” STK Rebel, barbecue and lobster shack Big Easy and Bombay-style café Dishoom are to open their doors at the South St Andrew Square development, it was announced yesterday.

The trio will join eateries Busaba Eathai and Drake & Morgan at the prime site in the city centre. The £75 million project is a joint venture between Standard Life Investments and developer Peveril Securities.

David Stewart, manager of the Standard Life Investments Pooled Pension Property Fund, said: “These lettings demonstrate the strong appeal of the South St Andrew Square development and Edinburgh as a destination for international restaurants as they look to expand outside of London.

“We’re confident [it] will become the prime destination for top-quality dining in Edinburgh.”
