Edinburgh’s Christmas organiser Underbelly hopes to top last year’s 540,000 ticket sales for the attractions which continue until 4 January. It has promised the “biggest and brightest Christmas festival ever seen in Scotland and the rest of the UK”. The square will be the focus of celebrations on Sunday on the eve of St Andrew’s Day, featuring free performances from Scots Makar Liz Lochhead and various bands.
