The civil case was called at Glasgow Sheriff Court against the 41-year-old where he was represented but not present.

It was reported in February that the SFA were suing Mr Whyte after he failed to pay a £200,000 fine for bringing the game into disrepute.

The SFA confirmed earlier in the year that a writ was served on Mr Whyte after a number of warnings issued to him had been ignored for months.

Sheriff Alayne Swanson continued the case until next month.

No documents were available to the media at the court with the details of the commercial action against Mr Whyte.
