Despite reports that the Scotland boss could hand Chris Martin a start up front, Strachan has kept his faith in Sunderland striker Steven Fletcher, who will lead the attack.

However, there are no starting berths for Ikechi Anya, Steven Naismith and Andrew Robertson, who have been replaced by James Forrest, James McArthur and Grant Hanley respectively, with Charlie Mulgrew shuffling over to left back.

The substitutes will likely be Darren Fletcher, Johnny Russell, Leigh Griffiths, Gordon Greer, Chris Martin, Craig Gordon, Matt Ritchie, Allan McGregor and Steven Whittaker.

Anya, Naismith and Robertson will drop to the bench for the clash against Die Mannschaft.

Germany are likely to go with the same team that recorded a 3-1 win over Poland in Frankfurt last week, and are expected to field a 4-2-3-1 formation with Manuel Neuer in goal; a back four of Emre Can, Jerome Boateng, Mats Hummels and Jonas Hector; Bastian Schweinsteiger and Toni Kroos in the holding midfield roles with Thomas Müller, Mesut Özil and Karim Bellarabi as the attacking midfield trio and Mario Gotze up front.

Germany’s subs are expected to be Marc-André ter Stegen, Matthias Ginter, Shkodran Mustafi, Sebastian Rudy, André Schürrle, Lukas Podolski, Christoph Kramer, İlkay Gündoğan, Max Kruse, Kevin Volland and Ron-Robert Zieler.
