Scotland - Serbia game ‘going ahead’ despite snow

SCOTLAND’S World Cup qualifier against Serbia tonight is in jeopardy due to heavy snow in Novi Sad. Officials say that as things stand, the game will go ahead.

Snow has fallen already today, with the temperature hovering around zero degrees and more snow forecast. The game is due to kick off at 8:30pm local time.

On their official Twitter account, the SFA said: “Serbia v Scotland on as it stands. Serbian FA clearing pitch of snow.” The Association said that Serbian FA employees began clearing snow from the pitch at noon local time, and that conditions were playable but further updates or changes could follow.

If postponed, the game would be rescheduled for Wednesday with the same 8:30pm kick-off.

Scotland could be eliminated from World Cup contention with defeat to the Serbs this evening.
