Hearts could go bust in a week

The Tynecastle club have a week to find the £100,000 needed to settle an unpaid PAYE tax bill or face a winding-up order, according to reports this morning.

Club sources say season ticket sales and commercial income could help bridge the gap but it is a “race against time”. (Sun)

The Parkhead club are believed to have begun negotiations with striker Amido Balde with a view to signing the £2.5m rated player from Vitoria Guimaraes. (Mail)

Dundee United bid to bring back David Goodwillie

The Tannadice club are in talks with Blackburn Rovers over bring striker Davd Goodwillie back to Dundee as Johnny Russell nears closer to a £750,000 move to Derby County.

Goodwillie moved to Blackburn in 2011 for £2.8m but has struggled to hold down a first team starting place and spent a loan spell at Crystal Palace last season. (Scotsman)

Barry Robson signs for Aberdeen

Former Dundee United and Celtic midfielder Barry Robson has signed for Aberdeen as new boss Derek McInnes continues to rebuild his new look side.

The 34-year-old will officially join the Dons once his contract with Sheffield United expires.

He joins Dundee United’s Willo Flood who has signed a pre-contract agreement. (Scotsman)

Hopes fade of Hibs holding onto Leigh Griffiths

Wolves have reiterated their desire to hold onto striker Leigh Griffiths with club chairman Jex Moxey vowing to turn him into a multi-million pound striker in the mould of Steven Fletcher whom the club bought for £6m and sold for £12m to Sunderland. (Scotsman)

Rangers complete signing of Arnold Peralta

Honduran international midfielder Arnold Peralta has signed a four-year deal with the Ibrox club, subject to the 24-year-old being cleared for a work permit. Peralta will officially sign on September 1 when Rangers’ transfer embargo ends however he will join Ally McCoist’s squad for pre-season. (Scotsman)

• The signing of Peralta means that Rangers will have to sell players before they can buy as they now have the maximum number over the age of 21 that SFL rules allow (Sun)

Motherwell and Aberdeen fight for Wylde’s signature

The two SPL sides have declared an interest in Bolton Wanderers winger Gregg Wylde with the player also attracting interest from English and French sides.

Wylde controversially left Rangers when the club were liquidated however his move to Bolton was not cleared by FIFA and he had to sit out the remainder of the season which saw his new side relegated. (Express)
