The purple alternative shirt with a diamond pattern front was designed by the club’s sponsorship partner Puma and is said to be equipped with the latest in ‘moisture wicking’ fabric.

The graphic design of the shirt is said to have been influenced by Rangers era of a dominance in Scottish football throughout the 1990s, which saw Rangers named Scottish Premier Division champions for eight seasons in a row. The Ibrox side would play in purple during European fixtures.

A section of Rangers fans are currently urging fans to boycott official merchandise due to Mike Ashley’s continued involvement with the club’s retail arm.
