Stockbridge has apparently stood by the claim, in which he states that he oversaw the security of the club’s financial future by helping to float Rangers on the stock market which saw funds of £22 million generated.

However, Union of Fans have slammed the claims and spokesman Chris Graham told the Daily Record Stockbridge’s claim was ‘ridiculous’, he said: “To suggest he somehow aided Rangers is fairly ridiculous given everything that has happened since the takeover. He is happy to take credit for the fact that the money was raised. But he doesn’t want to take responsibility for the contracts that were in place that took the money back out, or responsibility for where the company is now with all that money gone.”
