Pair of threes for McLeod

Spartans’ Keith McLeod scored his second hat-trick in a week to down Vale of Leithen 5-0 at Meadow Park, with Kevin Motion and a James Young own goal also contributing to the rout, writes Neil McGlade.

Phil Addison’s solitary first-half header was enough to give bottom club Selkirk a much-needed win over Whitehill Welfare at Ferguson Park, as nearest rivals Gala Fairydean Rovers, lost 5-2 at the Pennypit to Preston Athletic to cut the gap between the Borders clubs to just one point.

Goals by Edinburgh City’s Peter Stenhouse, Mark McConnell and Dougie Gair sealed an impressive 3-1 victory over East Kilbride at K-Park, while University of Stirling defeated Threave Rovers 2-0 at Forthbank and Gretna 2008 and
