Man dies after car collides with truck on A947

A 46-year-old man has died following a crash between a car and a lorry in Aberdeenshire.

The collision, on the A947 Fyvie to Oldmeldrum, happened around 3.30am and involved a Peugeot and a white lorry.

The 31-year-old driver of the HGV suffered minor injuries and was taken to Inverurie hospital for treatment.

Police Scotland said the road was closed to allow for crash investigations and appealed for witnesses.
