BUILDING firm ISG has been awarded twin multi-million pound contracts for the overhaul of the Trump Turnberry golf resort.

The schemes – totalling some £11.5 million – will see the company refurbish, remodel and upgrade all 103 bedrooms and public spaces within the hotel building, and construct a new grand ballroom at the famous Ayrshire venue.

The contracts follow owner Donald Triump’s recently stated intention to create one of the most luxurious hotels in the UK.

External enhancements will include the replacement of all windows, repairs to the roof and dormers and renewal of render to all elevations at the 109-year-old building.

The new 6,000 square feet grand ballroom has been “sympathetically designed” to blend with the original architecture.

Andy McLinden, ISG’s Scotland regional managing director, said: “Adding Trump Turnberry to our portfolio of luxury Scottish hospitality projects represents an important win for the business.”
