Graeme Souness ‘feels fine’ says wife

Football legend Graeme Souness is expected to be released from hospital in the next few days after suffering a suspected heart attack at his Dorset home on Friday night.

The 62 year-old, who was born in Edinburgh, collapsed suddenly and was rushed to hospital where he had a minor heart operation, according to his wife, Karen.

She said the ex-Rangers boss is expected to leave the Royal Bournemouth General hospital and return to their home tomorrow.

Karen Souness, 56, said: “It all happened very suddenly and I called the ambulance.

“Graeme was taken into hospital on Friday and he’s had a minor cardiac procedure which has all gone well and they’re hoping to discharge him within the next 48 hours.”

She added that her husband shouldn’t need any further treatment.

She said: “He’s fine - he’s telling everyone he feels fine and wants to go home.

“We hope he’ll be back to full health very soon.”
