Flight search engine Skyscanner has been named large digital business of the year at the Scottish technology industry’s annual awards ceremony.

Flight search engine Skyscanner has been named large digital business of the year at the Scottish technology industry’s annual awards ceremony.

The Edinburgh-based firm picked up the accolade at the ScotlandIS Digital Technology Awards 2016 in Glasgow, with Calnex, the Linlithgow maker of kits for testing mobile phone networks, winning the award for mid-sized firms.

Personal shopping app Mallzee was named small digital tech business of the year, and also walked away with the prize for best business-to-consumer product.

Another double winner was financial platform Nucleus, named best financial service for the second year running and also picking up a gong for outstanding marketing performance.

The investment deal of the year award went to fellow Edinburgh firm FreeAgent, the online accounting software specialist.
