Man who seduced teen, 14, at hotel facing jail

A MAN who seduced a teenage girl in a hotel room after meeting her mother on Facebook is facing jail.

Michael Fallan, 30, lured the youngster to the seedy rendezvous after getting to know her mum through the social media site.

Devious Fallan, of Glasgow, had cancelled a meeting with the girl’s mother but instead arranged to go to the Holiday Inn at Strathclyde Park with her daughter.

He used his own brother’s credit card to book the room and after plying the 14-year-old with alcohol had sex with her in April 2013.

Fallan’s sordid secret was only uncovered after the pair were later spotted together and the girl confessed to her mother who called in the police.

Fallan has now appeared at Hamilton Sheriff Court where he pled guilty to having consensual sex with a girl under 16.

Fiscal depute Lauren McRobert said: “The accused and the complainer’s mum met through Facebook.

“On April 19, 2013, the accused and the complainer’s mum were supposed to be attending a party and were going to be staying two nights in a hotel.

“The accused said he was not going to attend with her so she went alone.”

The court heard the youngster had willingly gone to bed with Fallan but had little memory of the night.

Depute McRobert added: “Her recollection was quite sketchy but she remembered moving to the bed with the accused.

“The accused thereafter had sex with the complainer and they stayed in the hotel until the following morning.

“The following morning he said to the complainer that he had had a good night.

“The complainer couldn’t remember having sex with the accused and was shocked that they had.”

DNA evidence was later obtained and Fallan was arrested.

Sheriff Douglas Brown deferred sentence until November for background reports and Fallan was placed on the sex offenders’ register.

He refused to comment.
